RBPF hosts banquet for His Majesty

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha and Her Royal Highness Pg Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar attended a lavish banquet in honour of His Majesty's 60th birthday hosted last night by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF).

Upon arrival at the Assarraa Hall in the capital, His Majesty, who is also Inspector General of the Royal Brunei Police Force, Her Majesty and HRH Pg Isteri were welcomed by the Commissioner of Police, Pehin Datu Kerma Setia Dato Paduka Seri Zainuddin Jalani, as well as other senior police officers.

Also present at the event were His Royal Highness and Deputy Inspector General Police, Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, HRH Paduka Seri Pg Anak Isteri Pg Anak Sarah, HRH Prince Hj 'Abdul Azim, HRH Prince 'Abdul Malik, HRH Prince 'Abdul Mateen, HRH Princess Hjh Masna, HRH Princess Hjh Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam and other members of the royal family.

Following the singing of the national anthem, His Majesty consented to receive greetings from RBPF members who attended the ceremony in a Junjung Ziarah.

The event's highlight was the cutting of the birthday cake by His Majesty, before being presented with a Pesambah by the Police Commissioner on behalf of the RBPF.

Elaborate performances were staged for the royal guests and other attendees throughout the duration of the banquet, which were carried out by divisions of the RBPF and invited guest performers. (20th August 2006)
