Congratulatory messages to Pakistan on the occasion of Pakistan Day

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to send a congratulatory message to General Pervez Musharraf, President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on the occasion of Pakistan Day.

In his message, His Majesty greatly values the longstanding and friendly relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. His Majesty also expressed his hope to work closely with General Pervez Musharraf to deepen and widen the scope of this relation in the years ahead, a press release stated.

His Majesty also expressed hopes that General Pervez Musharraf would always remain in good health and happiness and for the people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to always enjoy continued progress and prosperity.

At the same time, in a congratulatory message to Shaukat Aziz, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, His Majesty congratulated the prime minister and the government as well as the people of Pakistan on the occasion of Pakistan Day.

His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations that had been long established between the two countries. His Majesty also expressed his wish that this would be maintained and enhanced in the future for the mutual benefit of the two countries and peoples. His Majesty prayed to Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala the Almighty for the continued good health and happiness of Shaukat Aziz and for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, in a separate message conveyed warmest congratulations and best wishes to Khushid Mahmud Kasuri, Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the government and people of Pakistan on their Republic Day.

His Royal Highness looked forward to continuing to work with the Pakistan Minister of Foreign Affairs during the coming year to strengthen the important programmes of cooperation between both countries.
