His Majesty visits 5 exhibitions

His Majesty the Sultan received a warm welcome from residents of Brunei-Muara during the get-together with the rakyat at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar Ali Saifuddien in the capital followed by a visit to the Five Exhibitions at the Bumiputra Commercial Centre yesterday.

Accompanying His Majesty were His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Azim, His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik and His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Mateen.

The "hadrah" was played upon His Majesty's arrival at the exhibitions.

The exhibitions showcase portraits of His Majesty, a photography competition, a food pavilion, Brunei traditional brocade and lots more.

The Photography Competition and Exhibition 2006 started yesterday and will last for two weeks. July 26 is the prize presentation for portrait and photography winners.

A painting of His Majesty done by Marsidi Omar was given as "Pesambah" to the Sultan in conjunction with his 60th birthday celebrations.

Also taking part in the exhibitions are Mukim Berakas, Mukim Sengkurong, Mukim Burung Pingai Ayer and Mukim Gadong showcasing Brunei traditional food like "kueh mueh"

Local entrepreneurs taking part include Hj Hias bin Hj Matusin, Director of Sahamada Corporation Sdn Bhd, Syarikat Ajidah Sdn Bhd, and Hajah Siti Aidah binti Pg Dato Paduka Hj Othman.
