Kudos for electrifying Tattoo shows

Accolades poured in from all quarters as the Brunei International Tattoo 2006 concluded with a bang Tuesday night the way it started last Saturday in front of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

The public was captivated by performances from army bands from 13 countries and the participants were equally enchanted by the way they were received. Hosts Royal Brunei Armed Forces came in for special praise by the participants.

To sum it all up, the bandmaster of Royal Australian Navy said, "We have never felt so welcomed in any country before and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces had done a great job. We will come back if there is another opportunity."

Thousands of spectators were treated to riveting stuff at the National Indoor Stadium Tuesday night. The four-night show was a befitting 60th birthday tribute to His Majesty. Photo right shows the Chinese wushu team in action. - Borneo Bulletin (3rd August 2006)
