Empire Hotel attempts world record with giant Malay Kueh display

The Empire Hotel & Country Club is attempting a world record with a gigantic display of Malay Kueh in the form of a number "60" in honour of His Majesty the Sultan's 60th birthday celebrations.

The Malay Kueh display will be featured as part of the dessert buffet for Dine Around Sunday at The Empire Hotel & Country Club on August 6 from 11am to 5pm.

A total of approximately 800 man-power will be used to prepare the Malay Kueh and work on the display. The display alone will take eight chefs around seven hours to lay out.

Ingredients for the total display comprises of 600 litres of coconut milk, 240 litres of condensed milk, 100 litres of milk, 240kg of sugar, 2,300 eggs, 190kg of flour and 15kg banana leaves.
