Congratulatory messages on occasion of S'pore's National Day

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to send congratulatory messages to Mr Sellapan Rama Nathan, President of Singapore and Mr Lee Hsien Loong, Prime Minister of Singapore, on the occasion of the National Day of Singapore.

In his message to Mr Nathan, His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations and deep understanding that had so long been established between Brunei Darussalam and Singapore. His Majesty hopes that this would be maintained and enhanced in the future at the bilateral level, in Asean and at an international level for the good of the two countries and people.

His Majesty also hopes that the President of Singapore would always remain in good health and happiness and for the people of Singapore to always enjoy continued progress, peace and prosperity.

At the same time, in a similar congratulatory message to Mr Lee Hsien Loong, His Majesty congratulated the prime minister and government and people of Singapore on the occasion of the National Day of Singapore.

His Majesty also greatly values the warm and friendly relations between the two countries. His Majesty expressed his wish that this will be maintained and enhanced in the future for the mutual benefit of the two countries and people. His Majesty also wished Mr Lee Hsein Loong continued good health and happiness.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, consented to send a congratulatory message to Mr George Yeo, Minister of Foreign Affairs Singapore on the occasion of the republic's national day.

In his message, His Royal Highness sent his best wishes to Mr Yeo and the government and people of Singapore on the occasion of their national day.

"It has been a great pleasure working with you over the past year and I was very happy to see you in Brunei Darussalam in April this year. I much appreciate your personal contribution to strengthening the long-lasting friendship and cooperation our people so happily enjoy.
