His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday afternoon consented to grant audiences to several foreign guests who have been invited to attend His Majesty's 61st birthday celebrations.
Also present during the audiences at the Istana Nurul Iman was Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hjh Saleha.
Among those granted audiences were Her Royal Highness Princess Basma binti Talal of Jordan; Dr Boediono, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of Indonesia; Marshal TNI Dato Paduka Seri Djoko Suryanto of Indonesia; Datuk Seri Utama Dr Rais Yatim, Minister of Culture, Youth and Heritage of Malaysia; and the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Laos, Mr Thong Ioun Sisoulith.
Others included Pehin Sri Dr Haji Abdul Taib bin Mahmud, Chief Minister of Sarawak; Datuk Seri Musa Haji Aman, Chief Minister of Sabah; Dr Hg Eng Hen, Minister of Manpower and Second Minister of Defence for Singapore; and Mr Alberto G Rumolo, Secretary of Foreign Affairs from the Republic of the Philippines.
In a separate venue, His Royal Highness Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, also granted an audience to Mr Alberto G Romulo and his wife. Present at the occasion was Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah.
