Royal audience for Malaysian Speaker

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to receive in audience the Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament, Tan Sri Dato' Seri Diraja Ramli bin Ngah Talib, at the Istana Nurul Iman yesterday afternoon.

The Malaysian Parliament Speaker's delegation included Datuk Ali bin Abdullah, Malaysian High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam, and Datuk Mahmood bin Adam, Secretary of the Malaysian Parliament.

Also in attendance were Pengiran Indera Mahkota Pengiran Anak (Dr) Haji Kamaludin ibni Al-Marhum Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Haji Mohd Yassin, Speaker of the Legislative Council, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Utama Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Yahya bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, Minister of Energy at the Prime Minister's Office, Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Jaya Dato Paduka Awang Haji Judin bin Haji Asar, Secretary to the Council of Cabinet Ministers/Clerk

to the Legislative Council and Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Hamid bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Yassin, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office.

Meanwhile in a separate audience, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha consented to receive in audience Raja Puan Sri Dato' Noora Ashikin binti Raja Abdullah, wife of the Speaker of the Malaysian Parliament.

Also in attendance during the audience were Pengiran Anak Datin Paduka Hajah Siti Rafeah binti Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Muda Haji Hashim, Datin Hajah Masnah binti Hajah Masnah, Datin Wan Kamariah Wan A Rahman, Ruziah binti Mohd Tahir and Datin Nabihah binti Haji Hassan. (23rd February 2007)
