His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam arrived in Sydney yesterday afternoon, and he will be joining other leaders from Chile, Canada, Vietnam, South Korea, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Singapore and Papua New Guinea at the Apec Economic Leaders Meeting (AELM).
Earlier yesterday at the Brunei International Airport, present to bid farewell to His Majesty were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, HRH Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, HRH Prince Hj Sufri and HRH Prince Abdul Malik.
Prior to departure, a 'Doa Selamat' was read by the State Mufti, Pehin Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Abdul Aziz.
Also present to bid His Majesty farewell yesterday were YAM Pengiran-Pengiran Cheteria, Cabinet ministers, Members of Privy Council, deputy ministers as well as senior government officers and the Australian High Commissioner to Brunei, Ms Ruth Adler.
