Royal congratulatory messages to Singapore

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send congratulatory messages to the President of the Republic of Singapore, Mr Sellapan Rama Nathan, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Singapore, Mr Lee Hsien Loong, on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Singapore.

In the message, His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations and deep understanding that had so long been established between Brunei Darussalam and Singapore.

His Majesty hopes that this would be maintained and enhanced in the future for the good of the two countries and peoples.

His Majesty also hopes that Mr S R Nathan would always remain in good health and happiness and for the people of Singapore to always enjoy continued progress, peace and prosperity.

At the same time, in a similar congratulatory message to the Prime Minister of Singapore, Mr Lee Hsien Loong, His Majesty congratulated him, the government and people of Singapore on the occasion of their National Day.

His Majesty also highlighted the importance of the Singaporean premier's recent visit to the Sultanate. His Majesty also expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations between the two countries.

His Majesty also hopes that this will be maintained and enhanced in the future for the mutual benefit of the two countries and peoples. His Majesty also wished the Singaporean premier continued health and happiness, and for the people of Singapore to enjoy continued prosperity.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, sent a similar congratulatory message to Mr George Yeo, the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Singapore, on the occasion of the 42nd National Day of Singapore.
