His Majesty leaves for Bali

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday evening left for Bali, Indonesia.

His Majesty will attend the Bali Democracy Forum, which begins today in Nusa Dua.

Accompanying His Majesty is His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

At the Brunei International Airport, His Majesty was bid farewell by His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and His Royal Highness Prince Abdul Malik.

Prior to His Majesty's departure a doa selamat was read by the State Mufti.

The Bali Democracy Forum is a meeting of Asian leaders aimed at strengthening democracy.

The forum will allow Asian countries to share experiences and their best practices for sustaining democracy.

Also present at the airport last evening to bid farewell to His Majesty were Cabinet Ministers, senior government officials and the Ambassador for the Republic of Indonesia to Brunei, Herijanto Soeprapto. - Borneo Bulletin (10th Dec 2008)
