Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bulqiah yesterday graced the Ministry of Finance's Korban ceremony at its ministry's lobby concourse in Commonwealth Drive.

Present were the second Minister of Finance, Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Abd Rahman Hj Ibrahim, permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries and other senior officials and staff.

The religious ceremony began with a recital of surah Al-fatihah, which was followed by Her Royal Highness distributing the Korban meat to the recipients.

Nine buffaloes were slaughtered this year by 63 officers and staff of the ministry.

Yesterday's ceremony was organised by the Royal Customs and Excise Department, Ministry of Finance. To conclude the ceremony, a doa selamat was read to bless the event. - Borneo Bulletin (11th Dec 2008)
