His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to receive in audience U Nyan Win, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Union of Myanmar, who is in the country on a three-day visit.
The audience took place at the Istana Nurul Iman. Present at the audience were the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade II, Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Awang Lim Jock Seng; Dato Paduka Hj Mustappa bin Hj Sirat, Permanent Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office; and Datin Paduka Hjh Maimunah binti Dato Paduka Hj Elias, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
Prior to the audience, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, met Mr U Nyan Win at the Balai Penghadapan, Bukit Kayangan and discussed current regional and bilateral affairs.
HRH Prince Mohamed also hosted a luncheon at the Balai Penghadapan, Bukit Kayangan for the Myanmar Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Also present was HRH Princess Hjh Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The Myanmar Minister of Foreign Affairs was accompanied by Mr Thura Thet Oo Maung, Ambassador of the Union of Myanmar in Brunei, and Mr Daw Maw Maw, Director of Political Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Union of Myanmar.
Mr U Nyan Win will leave Brunei today.
