His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di- Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, who is the Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), yesterday consented to attend a Regimental Dinner at the Bolkiah Garrison Officers' Mess to mark the RBAF 47th anniversary celebration.
His Majesty was accompanied by His Royal Highness General Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince, Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and General of the RBAF.
Welcoming His Majesty and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince were the Deputy Minister of Defence, Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Paduka Hj Mohammad Yasmin bin Hj Umar and the Commander of the RBAF, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin HJ Md Yussof.
On the arrival of His Majesty and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince at the Officers' Mess, the National Anthem was played. His Majesty and His Royal Highness then consented to sign the parchments and interacted with the senior officers of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF followed by a group photo session. Soon after, His Majesty and His Royal Highness were ushered to the Dining Hall for the Regimental Dinner which was accompanied by orchestral entertainment from the RBAF Band.
After the dinner, His Majesty and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince consented to lead in orchestrating the RBAF Band. Prior to departure, His Majesty and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince consented to meet and receive greetings from the officers of the Ministry of Defence and the RBAF.
