His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday offered condolences and attended prayers for the late widow of the first State Mufti of Brunei Darussalam at her residence in Jln Tutong.
Allahyarhamah Datin Seri Setia Hajah Kamaliah Suhaimi bte Hj Muhd Fadzlullah Suhaimi was the wife of Brunei's first State Mufti, Allahyarham Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Seri Utama Dr. Hj Ismail bin Omar Abdul Aziz.
Also present at the ceremony were His Royal Highness Prince Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik.
The late Datin Seri Setia Hjh Kamaliah Suhaimi, 81, who passed away yesterday morning (Friday) around 8am was a teacher at the Raja Isteri Pg Anak Damit Girls Religious Arabic School and the Hassanal Bolkiah Boy's Arabic Secondary School from 1968 until 2002.
The late Datin was also awarded the Anugerah Bakti Hijrah Khas Wanita by Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hjh Saleha in conjuction with Maulidur Rasul celebration in 1423 Hijrah., RTB reported.
The late Datin was the first Brunei woman to be awarded the honour. She was also awarded the Teacher's day Special award in 2006.
