The bilateral ties between Brunei Darussalam and Kingdom of Jordan were further strengthened following the arrival of Their Majesties King Abdullah II ibni Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Queen Rania Al Abdullah for a three-day State Visit to the Sultanate.
Upon arrival at the Istana Nurul Iman, Their Majesties were greeted by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darrusalam, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar.
Also present were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, YAM Pg Bini Hajah Faizah, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik, Her Royal Highness Princess Hjh Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bulqiah.
Their Majesties and HRH Pengiran Isteri then proceeded to the Royal Dais to receive the Royal Salute.
The National Anthems of both nations were aired accompanied by a 21 Royal Gun Salute.
His Majesty the Sultan and His Majesty King Abdullah II then inspected the Royal Guard of Honour.
After the inspection, Their Majesties then returned to the Royal Dais to receive the second Royal Salute.
Following the Royal Salute ceremony, Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania were introduced to the Cabinet Ministers and wives, the Grand Chamberlain, speaker of the Legislative Council and wife as well as other senior officials from the government of His Majesty the Sultan.
His Majesty, Her Majesty and HRH Pengiran Isteri were also introduced to the Jordanian delegation.
After the introduction, Their Majesties and HRH Pengiran Isteri then proceeded to a joint audience ceremony.
This was followed by the exchange of State Decorations. His Majesty the Sultan presented the Royal Family Order of the Crown of Brunei (Darjah Kerabat Mahkota Brunei) to King Abdullah II and the Most Esteemed Royal Family Order Laila Utama (Darjah Kerabat Laila Utama Yang Amat Di-Hormati) to Queen Rania.
King Abdullah II on the other hand presented the the Bejewelled Grand Cordon of Renaissance to Her Majesty and the Order of the Renaissance (First Degree) to Her Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri.
Before concluding the ceremony, a doa selamat was read by Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Hj Awang Abdul Aziz Bin Juned, the State Mufti.
His Majesty the Sultan and King Abdullah II then proceeded to a four-eye meeting before leaving the Istana Nurul Iman.
