In conjunction with the 62nd birthday celebration of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Land Transport Department has been entrusted to coordinate the float procession.

Ministries, departments, private companies and associations who wish to take part in the competition can obtain the entry forms from the secretariat located on the first floor of the Land Transport Department headquarters in Jalan Gadong.

The participating teams can contact 2451979 ext 111/ 112 or direct line 2455050 or fax 2454362 for more details. The entry form along with the sketch (nine copies) must be returned not later than June 2, 2008, at 4pm.

The secretariat said the competition is not open to individual participants. In addition, the float must be decorated creatively and appropriately highlighting the nation's future development and prosperity, and progress in science and technology in this digital era.

The participating teams must not use the personal signage of the royal family, sharp objects, explosives or yellow attire. The first prize for the competition is $8,000, $6,000 for second, $3,500 for third, $1,500 for fourth and $1,000 for fifth. - Borneo Bulletin (15th April 2008)
