His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to send congratulatory messages to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, on the occasion of the Queen's birthday.
In the message, His Majesty expressed his satisfaction with the warm and friendly relations and deep understanding that had been established between Brunei and UK. His Majesty hopes that this would be fostered and further enhanced in the future for the mutual benefit of the two countries and peoples.
His Majesty also hopes that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II would always remain in good health and happiness, and for the people of UK and Northern Ireland to always enjoy continued progress and prosperity,
His Majesty also congratulated British Prime Minister Mr Gordon Brown.
Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, also sent a congratulatory message to Mr David Miliband MP, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Commonwealth Affairs, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
In the message HRH expressed his warmest respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and other members of the royal family, and congratulated Mr Miliband, as well as the government and people of UK, on the occasion of the Queen's birthday.
