His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and King Abdullah II of Jordan yesterday consented to visit 204A Landing Point in Temburong District, where the two leaders witnessed a Special Force Regiment Jungle Demonstration, and later visited Pulau Baru-Baru to witness Special Force Regiment Maritime Demonstrations.
Before flying to Temburong, the two leaders met at the Royal Brunei Air Force Base in Rimba, a MinDef press release said.
His Majesty, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), arrived at the Royal Brunei Air Force Base in Rimba to welcome His Majesty King Abdullah II, King of the Hashimite Kingdom of Jordan, to the Special Force Regiment (SFR) Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
Their Majesties were greeted by the Deputy Minister of Defence, Pehin Datu Singamanteri Colonel (Rtd) Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar, Commander of the RBAF, Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Md Yussof and Commander of the Royal Brunei Air Force (TUDB) Brigadier General Dato Paduka Hj Mahmud bin Hj Saidin.
Their Majesties went to the Layang-Layang Lounge for a flight safety briefing. Before leaving for the Temburong District, a doa selamat was recited by the Head of RBAF Religious Department, Lt Col (AirF) Haji Abdu'r Rahimbin Haji Abdul Karim.
Upon arrival at the 204A Landing Point in Temburong, Their Majesties witnessed the Special Force Regiment Jungle Demonstration preceded by a welcoming speech by the Commander of the RBAF and a briefing on the demonstration by Colonel Harith bin Hj Abd Karim, Commanding Officer of the Special Regiment.
Their Majesties took part in a group photo session before leaving for Pulau Baru-Baru.
At Pulau Baru-Baru, Their Majesties witnessed the Special Force Regiment Maritime Demonstrations preceded by a briefing on Pulau Baru-Baru by the Commander of Royal Brunei Land Forces (RBLF), Colonel Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Rosli bin Pengiran Haji Chuchu.
The Commander of RBAF presented a pesembah to His Majesty King Abdullah II and also to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam prior to a luncheon at the guesthouse.
Before leaving Pulau Baru-Baru, Their Majesties signed the visit parchments and took part in a group photo session.
