Their Majesties visit Darulifta State Mufti, YSHHB School

Their Majesties King Abdullah II Ibni Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and Queen Rania Al-Abdullah visited the Darulifta State Mufti building yesterday afternoon.

Upon arrival, King Abdullah II and Queen Rania were welcomed by the State Mufti, Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia (Dr) Ustaz Haji Abdul Aziz bin Juned.

The royal delegation was then led to the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Islamic Exhibition Gallery, which houses antiquities from the personal collection of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

The royal delegates toured its Mushaf, Canes and Prayer Beads, and Manuscript Galleries. Their Majesties also viewed marble slabs that contain verses from the Holy Quran, as well as a historic tablet from an ancient mosque, which was a gift from King Abdullah II to His Majesty the Sultan.

Accompanying Their Majesties during the visit yesterday were Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah, HRH Princess Basma binti Talal and other members of the Jordanian royal family.

Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah also paid a visit yesterday to the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) Foundation School, accompanied by HRH Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah.

Welcomed by the Minister of Communications, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Her Majesty was led on a tour of the school's nursery.

Queen Rania also interacted with the children as she toured a kindergarten class and swimming pool, as well as the computer and music rooms. Her Majesty then proceeded to the school hall, to witness a choir performance and received a souvenir. - Borneo Bulletin (15th May 2008)
