Royal messages for Qatar's National Day

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to send congratulatory messages to His Highness Sheikh Mamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar, and Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al-Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, on the occasion of the country's National Day.

In His Majesty's message to the Emir of Qatar, His Majesty expressed his delight at the opening of the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Bandar Seri Begawan and appreciated the commitment to strengthening the countries' friendship and cooperation.

His Majesty also wished His Highness continued good health and happiness and for the continued progress and prosperity of his country.

In a message to Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabr Al-Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, His Majesty said that the presence of the Qatari Embassy in Brunei would enhance the two countries' close ties and cooperation in the years to come.

Meanwhile His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, sent a congratulatory message to Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

HRH Prince Mohamed extended his congratulations to the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, as well as the government and people on their national day.

HRH expressed his appreciation for the country's contribution to peace, security and goodwill in their region.

HRH Prince Mohamed said he looked forward to continuing to work together in the coming years to further strengthen the friendship and cooperation both bilaterally and as international partners. - Borneo Bulletin (18th Dec 2008)
