HRH Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah yesterday graced the 2008 Healthy Babies Contest for the Brunei-Muara District, which was held at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Berakas. Also attending the event was HRH Princess Hjh Majeedah Nuurul Bulqiah.
In her sabda, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah said, "With the help of Allah SWT, our country Brunei Darussalam is precluded from any forms of disaster (due to the climate change) such as the tsunami, drought and flooding.
"I would also like to stress on the issues of waste disposal which should be handled properly. Recycling activities should be encouraged and practised.
"In regard to health, we should always be cautious about the diseases that could spread especially during floods.
"Hopefully, this contest will raise people's awareness on climate change and its negative impact on the environment, which may affect people's health," HRH added, in her capacity as the guest of honour.
Organised by the Brunei Women's Council, the contest was divided into six categories: Category A - for baby between six to nine months' of age; Category B - for those between nine and 12 months; Category C - for those 12 to 18 months; Category D - for those between 18 and 24 months; Category E - for twin toddlers between 12 and 18 months; and, Category F - for July 15 babies.
The judges made their decisions during the morning event that was also attended by eight doctors and five health officers.
The winners are: Category A - Dayangku Nur Qistina Syaurah binti Pg Masony; Category B - Md Syarafubin Aqil binti Sunardi; Category C - Nursakinah binti Matahir; Category D - Md Danish Syadini bin Nur Aizan; Category E - Ak Ahmad Zakiuddin Safwan bin Pg Hj Zulkifli and Dk Siti Zuhayrah Shfwana bte Pg Hj Zulkifli; and Category F - Ak Saiful Rahimi bin Pg Saiful Zulkarnain.
