Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, yesterday morning left for Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the People's Republic of China, to attend the Second China-Asean High-Level Woman's Forum, from Oct 20-22.
The theme of the Forum is "A Harmonious Environment for Women's Development".
Her Royal Highness will also visit Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, Oct 23 and 24 to open the Brunei Water Courtyard in the Brunei Heritage Garden.
Her Royal Highness is accompanied by YAM Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz.
Meanwhile, the Brunei delegation to Forum will be led by Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Dr Awg Hj Ahmad bin Hj Jumat, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports, who left for Nanning yesterday.
The forum will discuss the difficulties and challenges faced by women, and brainstorm and strategise women's advancement and gender equality. It has also invited the participants to study the feasibility of setting up women's training centres in Asean countries and establishing a mechanism of high-level reciprocal visits and training.
The aim of the forum is to explore the willingness of all parties in safeguarding common interests, ways to strengthen and develop mechanisms of exchanges and training, to promote cooperation and play an important role in sustaining the China-Asean strategic partnership towards peace and prosperity.
