Royal messages for Japanese Emperor

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to send congratulatory messages to His Imperial Majesty Emperor Akihito of Japan and Prime Minister Taro Aso of Japan, on the occasion of His Imperial Majesty's 75th birthday celebration.

His Majesty warmly congratulated His Imperial Majesty and expressed His Majesty and the people of Brunei Darussalam's great pleasure at the warm and friendly relations that the people of Japan and Brunei so happily shared.

His Majesty also sent his best wishes to his Imperial Majesty Akihito and members of the Japanese royal family.

In a congratulatory message to Mr Taro Aso, His Majesty expressed delight at the completion of the Brunei-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement early this year and looked forward to continuing to strengthen the much-valued cooperation in the coming year.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, sent a congratulatory message to Mr Hirofumi Nakasone, Japan's Minister of Foreign Affairs.

His Royal Highness congratulated His Imperial Majesty and the Japanese royal family as well as the government and people of Japan on the occasion.
