His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Brunei's 29th ruler, will turn 62 in July. The second meeting for the Executive Committee of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam's 62nd Birthday celebration in the Tutong District was organised yesterday at its Seri Kenangan Community Hall Complex.

Tutong District Officer Hj Jamain Momin chaired the meeting. According to a spokesperson, more than 22 planned events were discussed, as well as the preparations and field performances that will involve about 1,000 participants.

Present at the meeting were Pg Setia Negara Pg (Dr) Hj Mohd Yusof Pg Hj Abd Rahim, Hj Daud Hj Duraman, Acting Chairman of Tutong's Municipal Board Hj Muhd Suffian Hj Bungsu, the Acting Tutong District Officer and event's chairman, as well as members of the Executive Committee.

The spokesperson said that the celebration is one of the most important events in the national calendar, with many activities and festivities to be organised nationwide, beginning with mass prayers throughout the country.
