His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday made a surprise visit to the new Radio Television Brunei (RTB) complex at Sungai Akar and later the RTB building at the heart of the capital.

The monarch had a closer look at the news-gathering operations at first hand. Top officials of this state-run media organisations were at hand to brief the Ruler.

His Majesty viewed the surrounding environment of the new RTB complex at Sungai Akar that is yet to be completed.

His Majesty, who takes a great interest in the national broadcasting outfit, also visited the RTB building in the capital where he took a closer look at the operations, building and welfare of the RTB staff. - Borneo Bulletin (29th May 2008)
