Royal messages for Canada Day

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam consented to send congratulatory messages to Michaelle Jean, Governor General of Canada, and Stephen Joseph Harper, Prime Minister of Canada, on the occasion of Canada Day.

In his message, His Majesty expressed his satisfaction at the warm relations and close cooperation between the two countries and his confidence that this would be maintained and enhanced, both bilaterally and multilaterally, for the mutual benefit of the two countries and peoples.

His Majesty also extended his personal best wishes for the Canadian Governor General's continued good health and happiness and for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Canada.

In a similar congratulatory message to the Prime Minister of Canada, His Majesty also wished the Canadian Prime Minister his continued good health and happiness.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, sent a congratulatory message to David Emerson, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada.

His Royal Highness said, "I have great pleasure in presenting my warmest congratulations to you and the government and people of Canada on Canada Day.
