His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday presented letters of credentials to three newly-appointed Brunei envoys and received letters of credentials from three foreign envoys to Brunei Darussalam.
His Majesty presented letters of credentials to Hj Abd Razak bin Hj Mohd Hussaini, Brunei Darussalam's High Commissioner to the People's Republic of Bangladesh; Malai Hjh Halimah bte Malai Yussof, Brunei's Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines; and Hj Adnan bin Hj Mohd Ja'afar, the High Commissioner of Brunei Darussalam to Australia.
This was followed by His Majesty receiving letters of credentials from three newly-appointed ambassadors to the country, namely, Ghassan Mohammed Abdurrahman Al-Dowaisan, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Brunei Darussalam, Kim Dae Sik, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Brunei Darussalam and Sayyid Fakhri bin Mohammed bin Said Al-Said, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam.
After the ceremony His Majesty granted an audience to the three new Brunei envoys.
Hj Abd Razak bin Hj Mohd Hussaini, the newly-appointed Brunei High Commissioner to the People's Republic of Bangladesh, started his service with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 1982 and previously served as Minister Counsellor at the High Commission of Brunei Darussalam in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Malai Hjh Halimah bte Malai Yussof was the Director of the Department of Politics II at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade prior to her appointment as Brunei's Ambassador to the Republic of the Philippines.
Meanwhile, Hj Adnan bin Hj Mohd Ja'afar, the newly-appointed Bruneian High Commissioner to Australia was the Director of the Department of International Organisations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Deputy Permanent Representative at the Permanent Mission of Brunei Darussalam to the United Nations in New York.
His Majesty later consented to receive separate audiences from the newly-appointed envoys from the State of Kuwait, the Republic of Korea and the Sultanate of Oman.
Ghassan Mohammed Abdurrahman Al-Dowaisan, the newly appointed Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Brunei Darussalam, previously served as Counsellor at the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Oman.
The newly-appointed Korean Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, Kim Dae-sik was previously the Ambassador at the Korean Embassy in Romania.
Sayyid Fakhri bin Mohammed bin said Al-Said, the Sultanate of Oman's Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam, formerly served as the Charge d' Affaires at the Sultanate of Oman's Embassy in Austria.
The ceremony was held yesterday at the Istana Nurul Iman.
