Police host royal birthday banquet

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Inspector General of Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hjh Saleha and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar consented to attend a royal banquet to mark the 62nd birthday of His Majesty last night.

The royal banquet was hosted by the Royal Brunei Police Force and held at Dewan Assarra.

Accompanying Their Majesties and HRH Pg Isteri were HRH Prince DIGP Hj Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, Deputy Inspector General of Police, HRH Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah, HRH Prince Abdul Malik and other members of the royal family.

Their Majesties and HRH Pg Isteri were greeted by the Police Commissioner, Pehin Datu Kerma Setia CP Dato Paduka Seri Zainuddin bin Jalani, and senior officers of RBPF and spouses.

Inside the hall, RBPF officers sang the national anthem and shouted a command of "Daulat Kebawah Duli Tuan Patik" (Long Live The King).

The event proceeded with the cutting of the birthday cake by His Majesty followed by the presentation of a 'pesambah' from the RBPF commissioner. - Borneo Bulletin (31st July 2008)
