On the first day of Syawal, state dignitaries, cabinet ministers, foreign diplomats, senior government officials and prominent figures and their spouses gathered at the Istana Nurul Iman to exchange Hari Raya greetings with His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and members of the royal family.

Accompanying His Majesty were Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha, Her Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and HRH Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah.

Also attending the gathering were His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah as well as other members of the royal household.

Meanwhile, the Istana Nurul Iman opened its doors to the public for three days from 10.00am until 12.00pm and again from 2.00pm to 4.00pm starting yesterday to convey their greetings to His Majesty and the royal household. - Borneo Bulletin (4th Oct 2008)
