Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hjh Saleha and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Isteri Azrinaz Mazhar attended a Khatam al-Quran ceremony last night held at the residence of YAM Pengiran Sura Negara Pengiran Anak Haji Muhammad Bey Muntassir along Jalan Beribi.

Also present at the ceremony were Her Royal Highness Pg Anak Isteri Pg Anak Hjh Zariah, HRH Princess Hjh Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah, HRH Princess Hjh Muta-Wakkilah Hayatul Bolkiah, HRH Princess Hjh Majeedah Nuurul Bulqiah, HRH Princess Hjh Hafizah Sururul Bulqiah, HRH Princess Hjh Masna and HRH Princess Hjh Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam, Yang Teramat Mulia Pengiran Babu Raja Pengiran Anak Hajah Besar binti Pengiran Anak Haji Metassan and other members of the royal family.

The event began with the recital of the doa followed by the recital of some chapters from al-Quran. YAM Pengiran Anak Hajah Nurul Amal Ni'matullah Athirah, YAM Pengiran Anak Hajah Nurul Amal Munjiyyatul Athirah and YAM Pengiran Anak Muhammad Abdul Haffiz were among the 18 members who took part in the khatam al-Quran ceremony.

The highlight of the ceremony was the sprinkling of the scented 'Bunga Rampai' and the pouring of scented water to mark the completion of the khatam al-Quran. - Borneo Bulletin (8th August 2008)
