His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to present certificates to 108 recipients of the TOL (Temporary Occupancy Licences) land grants and keys to houses under the Landless Indigenous Citizens Housing Scheme (STKRJ) in a ceremony held at the Mukim Pangkalan Batu Community Hall in Kampong Parit.

In showing his concern and care for the people of Brunei, His Majesty visited the residences of some of the recipients of the STKRJ in Kampong Lumapas 'A' and TOL in Kampong Masin, Kampong Sinarubai, Kampong Bengkurong and Kampong Kilanas.

After the certificate presentation ceremony for TOL land grants and handing over of keys, His Majesty went visited several homes and business establishments in the area.

During his visits, excitement and joy could be seen on the people's faces as they had the rare opportunity to interact with the monarch.

Yesterday's visits also showed how much the people love, respect and appreciate the monarch as they clamoured for a chance to see His Majesty face to face.

During the visits, His Majesty also consented to receive several pesambahs from the residents and business owners as well as posing for group photos, which delighted the people even more. - Borneo Bulletin (19th August 2009)
