His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a message of condolence to the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, following the recent bombing in Jakarta.

In the message, His Majesty expressed his sadness at the loss of life caused by this event.

His Majesty also reiterated Brunei Darussalam's standing in condemning all forms of terrorism and the importance for the two countries to continue cooperating in combating the scourge of terrorism.

On behalf of His Majesty's Government and the people of Brunei Darussalam, His Majesty sent his sympathy and condolences to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, the government and people of Indonesia and, especially to the bereaved families of the victims. - Borneo Bulletin (19th July 2009)
