Royal messages for China's anniversary

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a congratulatory message to Hu Jintao, President of the People's Republic of China, in conjunction with the 60th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China.

His Majesty expressed his warm congratulations to President Hu Jintao, on his country's many achievements and contributions to regional and international cooperation.

His Majesty said Brunei Darussalam was especially pleased to have worked closely with China as coordinators in promoting ASEAN-China relations.

His Majesty expressed his appreciation for the warm friendship happily shared by the people of both countries and the significant work done to enhance the close cooperation over the last one year, most notably in the areas of trade, defence, education and agriculture.

His Majesty thanked President Hu Jintao for his personal contribution in enhancing the bilateral relationship and looked forward to working closely in ensuring many more years of excellent ties between the two countries.

His Majesty conveyed his kindest regards for the continued health and happiness of President Hu Jintao.

In a similar message, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, expressed congratulations to Yang Jiechi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China.

His Royal Highness expressed his appreciation for working closely with Yang Jiechi over the past year to strengthen the many areas of cooperation between the two countries.

His Royal Highness said he looked forward to continuing working together with Yang Jiechi in the coming year, and conveyed his best wishes for a happy and most enjoyable 60th anniversary. - Borneo Bulletin (1st October 2009)
