His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a congratulatory message to Mr Mohamed Hosny Mubarak, the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, on the occasion of the country's National Day.
In the message to President Mubarak, His Majesty congratulated the President, the government and people of Egypt on their National Day.
His Majesty also stated that both Brunei and Egypt will continue to enjoy close cooperation, bilaterally and as international partners. His Majesty looked forward to continuing to strengthen that relationship in the coming years.
His Majesty also sent his best wishes for President Mubarak's continued good health and happiness.
Meanwhile His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade has also sent a congratulatory message to Ahmed Abdul Gheit, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
In the message, HRH congratulated the minister, the government and people of Egypt on the occasion.
HRH Prince Mohamed expressed his pleasure with the warm friendship shared between the two countries and looked forward to continuing the work as partners in the Non-Aligned Movement and Organisation of the Islamic Conference.
HRH also took the opportunity to congratulate the government and people of Egypt on successfully hosting the recent summit of the Non-Aligned Movement.
