The second meeting for the preparation of His Majesty's 63rd birthday celebrations in the Belait District was held at the Dewan Santap, Kuala Belait, yesterday morning.

The meeting, which was chaired by the Belait District Officer, Awg Haji Jamain bin Hj Momin, served to outline details of the preparations for His Majesty's visit to the district when the monarch attends the 'Junjung Ziarah' event and get-together ceremony. They also discussed the field performances.

More than 20 events will be held during His Majesty's birthday celebrations, which also include the grand event: 'Meet and Greet the Ruler'. Football competitions, festive stalls, stage and religious performances, water festival, tug-of-war competition and a basketball tournament are among the many activities lined-up for the auspicious occasion.

The meet also served as a platform to exchange views and share ideas on how to boost the quality of events for a more joyous celebration this year. - Borneo Bulletin (25nd Mar 2009)
