His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a congratulatory message to Mr Mohamed Nasheed, President of the Republic of Maldives, on the occasion of their Independence Day.

In the message to Mr Nasheed, His Majesty stated that the Government and People of Brunei Darussalam joined His Majesty in sending His Majesty's warmest congratulations to Mr Nasheed and to the Government and People of the Republic of Maldives on the country's Independence Day.
