Royal congratulatory message to USA for Fourth of July celebrations

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a congratulatory message to American President Barrack Hussein Obama on the occasion of the country's Independence Day.

In the message, His Majesty expressed great pleasure in sending his warmest congratulations to the president, the government and the people of the United States of America on the special occasion.

His Majesty also expressed much appreciation for Mr. Obama's personal contributions towards enhancing greater understanding between people of all faiths. His Majesty stated that the United States is Brunei's oldest partner in the modern international affairs and the two countries continue to enjoy great friendship and cooperation.

His Majesty looks forward to working with the president of the United States of America in strengthening the much-valued relationship, both bilaterally and as regional partners.

His Majesty conveyed his kind regards and best wishes to Mr. Obama for a very happy Fourth of July.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, sent a congratulatory message to Mrs Hillary R Clinton, the Secretary of State of the United States of America.

In the message, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah sent his warmest congratulations to Hillary R Clinton, the government and the people of the United States on the occasion of Independence Day.

His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah also wished Mrs Hillary Clinton great success in all her valuable work on behalf of the people of United States of America, and looks forward to meeting her at the 42nd Asean Ministerial Meeting later this month.
