His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send congratulatory messages to Mr Nguyen Minh Triet, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Mr Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on the occasion of their 64th National Day anniversary.
In the message, His Majesty sent his warmest congratulations to Mr Nguyen Minh Triet as well as the government and people of Vietnam on the occasion of the National Day anniversary.
His Majesty also expressed appreciation on the outstanding contribution made by the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in chairing the recent Asia-Europe meetings. His Majesty also hoped to continue to work together to enhance the much-valued friendship and cooperation between the peoples of the two countries.
In a similar message to Mr Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, His Majesty expressed his appreciation at the close friendship and cooperation shared by the two countries, and looked forward to working together to strengthen this relationship in the years to come, both bilaterally and as partners in regional and international cooperation.
In ending his message, His Majesty wished the best for Mr Nguyen Minh Triet and Mr Nguyen Tan Dung.
His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade sent a similar congratulatory message to his Vietnamese counterpart, Mr Pham Gia Khiem, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on the occasion of the 64th national day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
HRH in the message congratulated him, the government and people of Vietnam and said it has been a pleasure working with him over the past year to enhance both countries' friendship and cooperation.
HRH offered his congratulations on Vietnam's most successful hosting of this year's ASEM Foreign Ministers' meeting and wished him much success in their future chairmanship of Asean. HRH looked forward to working closely with him to strengthen the close relations both regionally and at the international level.
