Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bulqiah graced a handing-over ceremony of The Empire Hotel & Country Club's new conference hall last night.

The event began with the presentation of a ceremonial key from Maxwell Glover, the General Manger of TSL Construction, to Dato Paduka Hj Noordin.

The key was then handed over to Dr Awang Hj Mohd Amin Liew, the Managing Director of Brunei Investment Agency, who accepted it on behalf of the owners of The Empire Hotel & Country Club.

With this state-of-the-art conference centre, the hotel will add approximately 5,270 square metres to its exiting 3,210 square metres of space for meetings and funct-ions.

Aside from meeting rooms and an open-roof deck area, the hotel's Conference Centre also has a Grand Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 2,000 guests for a formal dinner and up to 3,000 for cocktail receptions or theatre-style seating.

The hotel said that bookings are now open for weddings, corporate events, private events, conferences and exhibitions.
