To welcome the Islamic New Year 1432 Hijrah, the Ministry of Finance organised a ceremony at the Theatre Hall, Finance Building located at Commonwealth Drive, yesterday.
Present as the royal guest of honour was HRH Princess Hjh Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah.
Also present were Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abd Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Acting Minister of Finance, senior officers and staff form various departments in the ministry.
The ceremony began with the recital of surah al-fatihah led by Mudim Haji Metassim bin Haji Metussin, Imam of Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien III Mosque, Bandar Seri Begawan.
This was followed by a religious talk based on this year's theme, 'Hijrah: Change towards Excellence' delivered by (Dr) Ustaz Haji Mohammad Adi Zaky bin Haji Metassim from the Civil Service Institute.
The annual ceremony is one of the religious activities organised by the ministry, aimed as a reminder of the importance celebrating the Islamic New Year as well as to foster ties between officers and staff from the various departments in the Ministry of Finance.
