His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send a congratulatory message to the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, on the occasion of the country's National Day anniversary.

In the message, His Majesty extended his warmest congratulations to the Iranian president as well as the government and people of Iran.

His Majesty looks forward to continuing to work together in strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries both bilaterally and in the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC).

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, the Minister of Foreign Affairs & Trade, sent a similar congratulatory message to Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Manouchehr Mottaki.

In the message, HRH wished the Iranian Foreign Affairs Minister and the people of Iran continued happiness, good health and prosperity in the years ahead. - Borneo Bulletin (11th February 2010)
