Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha was honoured yesterday in commemoration of her 64th birthday.
The ceremony, held at the Jerudong Park Polo Club's Royal Berkshire Hall, was hosted by the wives of Cabinet Ministers, deputy ministers, permanent secretaries and deputy permanent secretaries, as well as other association members.
Also in attendance were Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah, Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah, YAM Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah, HRH Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah, HRH Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah, Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna and Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Noor Ehsani.
In her welcoming remarks, chairperson of the organising committee Datin Paduka Hajah Jahrah Haji Mohamad highlighted the importance of the members' participation in various charitable events especially to benefit the orphans and the victims of natural disaster.
Various other religious and charitable activities have also been held recently by the members in honour of Her Majesty's birthday.
Later, Her Majesty consented to cut the birthday cake and received a 'pesambah' or gift by Datin Paduka Hajah Jahrah on behalf of the members followed by performances by event's committee members.
