Sultan bestows title to Philippines General

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), yesterday consented to bestow the title of "The Most Exalted Order of Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang" First Class - DPKT which brings the title "Dato Paduka Seri" to the Chief of Staff Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), General Victor Sabio Ibrado. The investiture ceremony took place at the Istana Nurul Iman. His Majesty later received the General in audience.

Present during the ceremony were Deputy Minister of Defence, Pehin Datu Singamanteri Col (Rtd) Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Yasmin bin Haji Umar and Commander of RBAF, Major General Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin.

In a separate room at the Istana Nurul Iman, Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha received in audience the wife of the Chief of Staff Armed Forces of the Philippines, Datin Dolores 'BEBET' Clarion-Ibrado.

The two-day introductory visit of General Victor Sabio Ibrado is aimed at strengthening friendly relations and to extend the importance of defence cooperation between both countries as well as respective armed forces. - Borneo Bulletin (22nd January 2010)
