His Majesty receives letters of credentials from 4 envoys

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday consented to receive letters of credentials from four foreign envoys at the Istana Nurul Iman.

The first envoy to hand over the credentials to His Majesty was the 55-year-old Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Brunei Darussalam Mohammad Reza Havaseli Ashtiani. He previously served as the Director General of Administrative Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

His Majesty then received credentials from the 58-year-old Ambassador of Lao People's Democratic Republic to Brunei Darussalam Souvanna Phouyavong . He previously served as the Acting Director General of International Relations of Mass Organisations Department, Commission for External Relations of the Party Central Committee.

Then His Majesty received letter or credentials from 57-year-old non-resident Ambassador of Belgium to Brunei Darussalam, Roland Van Remoortele. He is also the country's Ambassador to Singapore and is also based in Singapore.

Subsequently, His Majesty received the credentials from 61-year-old non-resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Netherlands to Brunei Darussalam Johannes Wilhelmus Gunivostus Jansing.

He is based in Singapore and is currently serving as the Kingdom of The Netherlands's Ambassador to Singapore.

After receiving the credentials, His Majesty received in separate audience the four foreign envoys. - Borneo Bulletin (23rd April 2010)
