His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send congratulatory messages to Asif Ali Zardari, the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Pakistani Prime Minister Syed Yousef Raza Gillani, as well as the government and people of Pakistan, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Pakistan.

In the message, His Majesty expressed his satisfaction over the warm and friendly relations shared between Brunei and Pakistan. His Majesty looks forward to strengthening ties between the two countries.

His Majesty prays that Allah the Almighty would continue to bless both the president and prime minister of Pakistan continued good health, happiness and prosperity.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Brunei's Minister of Foreign Affairs & Trade, sent a similar congratulatory message to Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, as well as the government and people of Pakistan, on the occasion of their Republic Day.

In the message, HRH expressed his satisfaction over the excellent relations shared between Brunei and Pakistan.
