His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday afternoon consented to present state decorations to 692 people.
Also attending the investiture ceremony were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office, His Royal Highness Prince Hj Jefri Bolkiah, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul 'Azim and His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik.
The ceremony was held in conjunction with His Majesty's 64th birthday celebrations, and took place at the Balai Singgahsana Indera Kenchana of Istana Nurul Iman. Amongst the recipients were senior government officers and uniformed personnel from various ministries and government departments, as well as those from the private sector.
First to receive was Dr Nagamuthu Ravindranathan who received Darjah Paduka Seri Laila Jasa Yang Amat Berjasa Darjah Kedua - DSLJ (The Most Distinguished Order of Paduka Seri Laila Jasa 2nd Class).
His Majesty then presented Awang Haji Mohd Roselan bin Haji Mohd Daud and Dayang Hajah Marhani binti Abdullah with Darjah Setia Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bahagia Darjah Ketiga - SNB (The Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei 3rd Class).
His Majesty then presented the Darjah Paduka Seri Laila Jasa Yang Amat Berjasa Darjah Ketiga - SLJ (The Most Distinguished Order of Paduka Seri Laila Jasa 3rd Class) to Dr Mathew Varkey Vallickad and Awang Noor Rashid Ismail.
His Majesty then proceeded to confer Darjah Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei Yang Amat Mulia Darjah Ketiga - SMB (The Most Honourable Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei 3rd Class) to 131 people out of which 40 of them were female recipients.
His Majesty later conferred Darjah Seri Ugama Islam Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bersinar Darjah Keempat - SUB (The Most Eminent Order of Islam Brunei 4th Class) to 20 people, 10 of them female recipients.
His Majesty then consented to confer Darjah Setia Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bahagia 4th Class - PSB (The Most Blessed Order of Setia Negara Brunei 4th Class) to 515 people, out of which 189 were female recipients.
His Majesty, lastly conferred Darjah Seri Ugama Islam Negara Brunei Yang Amat Bersinar Darjah Kelima - PUB (The Most Eminent Order of Islam Brunei 5th Class) to 21 people, out of which, six were female recipients.
The investiture ceremony concluded with the recital of a doa by the State Mufti.
