His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send his condolences to the President of the Republic of Chile, Michelle Bachelet, following the recent earthquake in Chile.

In the message, His Majesty expressed his great sadness upon learning of the loss of lives and widespread devastation caused by the quake. On behalf of His Majesty's Government and the people of Brunei Darussalam, His Majesty sent his deepest sympathy to the president of Chile, the government and people of Chile and especially to the bereaved families of the victims. - Borneo Bulletin (2nd March 2010)
