Royal congratulatory messages to Vietnam

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam has consented to send congratulatory messages to Nguyen Minh Triet, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Nguyen Tan Dung, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

In the message to the Vietnamese President, His Majesty expressed his appreciation for the warm and friendly relations shared between the two countries and was confident that these ties would continue to be strengthened and deepened not only in terms of bilateral affairs, but also in the regional and international arena.

In ending the message to Nguyen Minh Triet, His Majesty wished the best for his continued good health and happiness as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of Vietnam.

In a similar congratulatory message to Nguyen Tan Dung, His Majesty looked forward to continuing the many years of partnership enjoyed by the two countries, which had been built upon mutual respect and cooperation.

His Majesty also congratulated him on Vietnam's leadership of Asean this year and was confident that it would be a great success.

In ending the message to Nguyen Tan Dung, His Majesty wished the best for his continued good health and happiness as well as for the welfare and prosperity of the people of Vietnam.

Meanwhile, His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Brunei Darussalam sent a congratulatory message to his counterpart, Mr Pham Gia Khiem, Deputy Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on the occasion of Vietnam's 65th national day.

HRH also sent his warmest congratulations to the government and people of Vietnam and also congratulated the Vietnamese government on its chairmanship of Asean this year, especially Mr Pham Gia Khiem's personal contribution in the standing committee.

HRH said it had been a great pleasure working with him over the past year and thanked him again for the wonderful hospitality in Hanoi, and looked forward to continuing to strengthen both countries' close friendship and cooperation. - Borneo Bulletin (2nd September 2010)
