Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna officially unveiled Standard Chartered Bank's (SCB) new and improved Priority Banking, yesterday, at the Grand Hall of Empire Hotel and Country Club.

Last week, SCB's Premium Banking General Manager, Andy Ang, announced the expansion and rebranding of their Priority Banking unit to cater to the significant growth of the country's affluent customers in the past few years.

"Priority Banking business in Brunei... is growing rapidly exceeding the industry average," Ang said last week.

In his welcoming remarks last night, SCB CEO Danny Quah called the expanded proposition "among the best in the industry", citing many of its 'first-in-market' benefits such as its 'pan-bank' rewards, international services and free entry of customers' family members into Priority Banking.

"In today's economic climate, customers have become more discerning, and are looking for simple and transparent solutions," he said, adding that most affluent customers have banking relationships that are fragmented and are looking to consolidate them, a call SCB Priority Banking is willing and able to meet.

The expansion of SCB's Priority Banking business will also see an increase in relationship managers to meet the increasing financial needs of the affluent segment and a growing demand for overall banking solutions, enhanced level of service, access and convenience for customers.

Over 500 Priority Banking customers attended the dinner yesterday including Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Hj Abu Bakar; Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim, Minister of Finance II; and Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Dewa Dato Seri Setia Awg Lim Jock Seng, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade. - Borneo Bulletin (30th January 2010)
